Description
The Post & Rung Counter Stool extends the structural clarity of the Post & Rung Chair into a taller, more vertical form.
Defined by its joinery, proportion, and restraint, the stool is hand-shaped from solid Australian hardwood using traditional tools including axe, adze, chisels, rasps, scrapers, and hand planes. The design is grounded in chair-making logic, with a post-and-rung frame providing strength, rhythm, and architectural clarity.
The seat is shaped by hand and resolved through subtle transitions rather than industrial uniformity. Rungs provide both structure and rest, creating a functional framework that remains visually open and materially honest.
The Post & Rung Counter Stool is suited to kitchen counters, bars, hospitality interiors, and architectural spaces requiring a quieter, more adaptable piece. It carries the studio’s hand-made language in a restrained and specifiable form.

Finish note

Charred quietens the grain and gives the taller frame greater visual clarity. Patina softens the timber into a pale, chalky surface, allowing the structure and proportion of the stool to come forward. Natural preserves the warmth, grain, and material character of the hardwood.
