Description
The Flower Counter Stool extends the sculptural language of the Flower Stool into a taller, more vertical form.
Hand-shaped from solid Australian hardwood using axe, adze, scorps, rasps, scrapers, chisels, and hand planes, the stool is built through a slow process of carving, fitting, and refinement. The seat retains the carved bloom-like form of the series, while the longer legs and structural framework adapt the piece for kitchen counters, bars, hospitality settings, and architectural interiors.
The elevated form gives the Flower Counter Stool a stronger silhouette while retaining the softness and tactile surface of the original stool. Traditional chair-making logic provides strength and stability, while the carved seat, softened edges, and hand-shaped legs allow the piece to remain sculptural rather than purely functional.
Each stool is made individually to order. Slight variation in gesture, surface, and proportion is inherent to the process.
